Discount Impact Calculator
Discounts can increase sales but shrink the contribution from each order. Compare before and after, then see how many extra sales preserve your original gross profit.
Your result
This uses gross profit before overhead and marketing. It assumes unit costs stay the same as volume changes.
How it works
Original profit per unit = price − direct cost. Discounted profit = price × (1 − discount) − direct cost. Required sales = original total profit ÷ discounted profit per unit.
Common questions
Why can a small discount need many more sales?
The discount comes out of profit per unit, so the sales increase needed depends on your starting margin.
What if the discounted price is below cost?
The tool marks the offer as loss-making per unit, so extra volume cannot recover the original gross profit.
